Who We Are
We are a Nepal-based, not-for-profit committed to producing new narratives on dignity, justice, equity, and sustainability — with Dalit women at the centre of every idea and action.
Our Vision
We exist to challenge caste, resist exclusion, and rebuild knowledge systems with Dalit women leading the way.
What Are We Changing?
We examine caste through grounded research and creative scholarship that amplifies marginalised voices and questions dominant knowledge traditions.
Origins
From Conversations to Action
JFP grew out of over a decade of critical discussions with activists, scholars, and practitioners worldwide on:
- Caste, Gender, Class, Sexuality
- Inclusive Democracy
- Sustainability
Officially registered in April 2023, JFP focuses on:
- Intersectional approaches
- Collaborative partnerships with communities, institutions, and social justice movements in Nepal and beyond
At its core is a simple but powerful idea: marginalized communities are agents of knowledge, leadership, and transformative change. By centering their experiences and perspectives, we aim to envision just futures for all, including millions living under systemic inequalities, and unlock transformative possibilities.
Acknowledgment
Recognizing Those Who Made This Possible
JFP is deeply grateful to the individuals and institutions who supported its journey, from conception to program implementation.
We would like to especially recognize Dr. Amar BK:
Ph.D. in Anthropology, University of Pittsburgh, USA
Senior researcher at the Samata Foundation
Founding board member and Executive Director of JFP until Dec 2023
Dr. BK’s guidance, expertise, and mentorship greatly enhanced the critical thinking and learning of participants in our 18-month fellowship, “Apan Katha Apnei Bunechhi,” designed for Madheshi Dalit women.
